Spice Farm
fromThe spice tour is a half-day (4-hour) guided walking tour that passes through villages and spice plantations. It starts at Kibweni Palace and then walks through to Kidichi. Here are the Persian Baths built by Seyyid Said Sultan for his wife Princess Shehrzard, one of the family members of the Shah of Persia. From here you will then proceed to Kizimbani spice plantations and walk through the spice farm, where workers climb trees, seek out specific plants, and cut off various barks, letting you see, feel and taste everything.
Here you can see, and touch a wide variety of spices, fruits, herbs, and ornamental plants and flowers. You also have the opportunity to pick, smell, and savor fruits and spices which you have probably never seen on the supermarket shelf, Cloves, star fruit, tangerine trees, lemon grass, mangos teen, ‘and lipstick trees’, to name but a few of what you can expect to see! This is the best and cheapest place to buy spices, locally made perfumes, and oils directly from the source. When the tour is over we drive back to the hotel.
